Igor Sargsyan, the former deputy head of the Environmental and Mining Inspectorate, commented during a rally supporting Chief of Staff Onik Gasparyan in front of the Ministry of Defense building, responding to Sassoon Mikaelyan's statement that Armenia has not had an army for 30 years. He stated, 'Evidently, Sassoon Mikaelyan and Nikol Pashinyan have not had an army for 30 years; their army has been made up of 'fake' elements, 'Soros-affiliated' figures, anti-national elements, and torturers. It is logical that he would say we have not had an army.'

'The army was dismantled over the last three years; everything that could be destroyed has been destroyed. They began to qualify generals and military personnel as corrupt or ignorant, gradually dismantling it and disenchanting the military leadership, the people who were working around the clock in the trenches and on the frontline to uphold the army. It is essential to come together and support the army. The Chief of Staff and the generals know their responsibilities very well, and reorganizing the army is a short-term issue.'
