VIDEO: 4-Year-Old Boy Falls 20 Meters from Escalator in Moscow Due to Parents' Negligence

A four-year-old boy has been hospitalized with serious head injuries after falling approximately 20 meters from an escalator in a shopping mall in Moscow, according to Daily Mail.

The child was first seen clinging to the rubber railing of the escalator at the 'Global City' shopping center in Moscow. Video footage shows him climbing to the upper part of the escalator. Unable to withstand his own body weight, he fell, crashing onto a table of a café below, sustaining severe injuries to his head and chest.

A woman, who is believed to be the boy's mother, rushed to the scene immediately.

The shopping center has stated that the incident was a result of parental negligence. The boy is currently in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Moscow.

“The patient has an open head injury, a brain contusion, and a skull fracture, along with internal chest injuries. The child is receiving necessary care while law enforcement investigates the details of the case,” the hospital reported.

According to the interim spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of Russia, Yulia Ivanova, police are conducting a pre-investigation check regarding the incident.

It has been mentioned that the boy's parents may face legal accountability.
