Court Deliberates on the Detention of Ara Saghatelyan

The Court of Appeal has gone into a deliberative session to make a decision regarding the appeal against the detention of Ara Saghatelyan, former head of the National Assembly staff. This information was shared with reporters by Saghatelyan's lawyer, Hakob Yenokyan.

He noted that during the court session, they presented their evidence, while the prosecutors presented their objections. The court’s decision will be announced on March 5 at 16:00.

Ara Saghatelyan, who was detained on February 21, is charged under three articles of the criminal code: inciting national, racial, or religious hatred by an organized group; publicly calling for violence; justifying or promoting violence publicly; and violating the rules on the dissemination or publication of information during a state of war. Saghatelyan denies the charges against him.
