VIDEO: Sinabung Volcano Erupts in Indonesia, Ejects Massive Column of Smoke and Ash 5 km High

The Sinabung volcano in northern Sumatra, Indonesia, has erupted, sending a massive column of smoke and ash 5 kilometers high into the sky, according to RG.ru. This marks the first major eruption of the volcano since August 2020. Fortunately, there have been no casualties, but the surrounding area has been blanketed in ash.

Sinabung has been in an active state lately, intermittently expelling stones and ash. As a result, residents of nearby villages have been on high alert for the past month. It's worth noting that the volcano awakened in 2010 after a 400-year period of dormancy and has erupted almost every year since then. In 2016, a release of hot gas resulted in the deaths of seven people.
