Militants Attack UN Base in Nigeria: Reports
Militants linked to the Islamic State terror group have launched an attack on a United Nations base and humanitarian aid center in northeastern Nigeria, leaving 25 staff members trapped. This information was reported by the French Press agency, citing sources from security and civil organizations, as noted by РИА Новости.
“The humanitarian center was completely burned by the assailants, but the staff have not been harmed... 25 staff members are hiding in a shelter that is under siege by the attackers,” the sources revealed to the agency.
It is presumed that the assault was carried out by members of the Islamic State's West African Province terror group.
