Turkey Plans to Send Unmanned Spacecraft to the Moon

Turkey is planning to send an unmanned spacecraft to the Moon in 2023 with the help of a hybrid rocket being developed in the country. This was stated by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, as reported by РИА Новости.

On February 9, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan unveiled the national space program. He proposed to send the country’s first citizen into space, build its own space station, and send landing equipment to the Moon by the end of 2023.

Later, Varank mentioned that Ankara is negotiating space cooperation with several countries, including Russia.
