Russian Defense Ministry: No Iskanders Used in Nagorno-Karabakh

No Iskander systems were used during the escalation of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.

"The Russian Ministry of Defense was puzzled and surprised by the statements made by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding the Iskander missile systems allegedly used by the Armenian armed forces in Nagorno-Karabakh, which either did not explode or exploded only 10 percent of the time. Based on our objective and reliable information, including verification by an objective monitoring system, no missile systems of this type were used during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," the ministry stated.

It was emphasized that all of Armenia's Iskander missile stock is held in warehouses. It appears that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has been misled, resulting in him conveying inaccurate information.

“Iskanders have been tested and successfully used multiple times in Syria against international terrorist groups. This provides us with grounds to suggest that it is the best of its kind in the world, a fact acknowledged by all,” the Russian Defense Ministry added.
