Tiran Khachatryan Removed from Position of Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces

President Armen Sargsyan has signed a decree relieving Tiran Khachatryan of his duties as the First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.

"Based on the Prime Minister's recommendation, in accordance with Article 133, Part 1 of the Constitution, as well as Article 40, Paragraph 3 of the Law on Military Service and the Status of Military Personnel, Tiran Khachatryan is relieved from the position of First Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia," the decree states.

It is noteworthy that earlier, Yerevan.today had published an interview with Tiran Khachatryan, where he notably laughed upon hearing about a 10% success rate of the Iskander missile's firing, adding that it was not a serious matter. Following this interview, the Ministry of Defense issued a clarification stating that the content of the conversation with Tiran Khachatryan published by Yerevan.today had been distorted.
