Thieves Steal Approximately 1.8 Million Dram Worth of Decorations from Graves
On February 15, police in the Nubarashen division responded to information received regarding a theft from the Nubarashen cemetery area, apprehending a 40-year-old resident of the capital on suspicion of the crime.
It was revealed that on February 11, the detained individual, in agreement with one of his acquaintances, had stolen aluminum decorations from the grave of one of the tombs. Law enforcement also identified the other accomplice, a 63-year-old resident of Yerevan.
Police further determined that these individuals had committed approximately three dozen similar thefts from the cemetery. According to preliminary data, the total damage amounts to about 1,800,000 dram. An investigation is underway.
Notification: The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedural laws established by the criminal procedure code of the Republic of Armenia, through a verdict that has entered into legal force.
