Road Closures Across Armenia

Road closures have been reported across Armenia. The Berd-Jambarak road is closed, as well as the roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn province leading to Amberd Fortress and to the Kar Lake.

This information comes from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia's Department of Information and Public Relations. The Vardenyats Pass is passable for articulated trucks under the condition of using snow chains.

The Lsaghuys-Saralanj road in Aragatsotn province is difficult to navigate. There is black ice in some sections of the Vanadzor-Dilijan road, as well as on the Artik-Alagyaz road in Aragatsotn and several roads in Syunik province.

In Tavush province, as well as in the cities of Tashir and Alaverdi in Lori province, there has been snowfall. According to information received by the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed (due to a snowstorm) for all types of vehicles, with 550 heavy trucks accumulated on the Russian side.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia advises drivers to use winter tires exclusively.
