Restoration of the Desecrated Memorial to the Victims of the Armenian and Jewish Genocides

The memorial dedicated to the victims of the Armenian and Jewish genocides, located in the Circular Park of Yerevan, was restored today during a solemn ceremony aimed at reevaluating the significance of this monument, according to the Yerevan Municipality.

Attending the event were the head of the Central Administrative District of Yerevan, Avet Poghosyan, the President of the Jewish Community of Armenia, Rima Varzhapetyan-Feller, and other representatives of the community.

It is noteworthy that the monument was recently desecrated by unknown individuals. The staff of the Central Administrative District quickly cleaned and restored it to its former state.

“This monument unites two peoples who have suffered great losses, and we, as representatives of these peoples, must do everything in our power to ensure that such calamity never happens again. Armenia is open to all national minorities, and I once again reaffirm our friendship with the Jewish people,” said Avet Poghosyan, the head of the Central Administrative District.

In her turn, Rima Varzhapetyan-Feller, President of the Jewish Community of Armenia, expressed gratitude to the city authorities for condemning the disgraceful act and responding swiftly to the issue. Attendees laid flowers at the monument and paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Armenian and Jewish genocides.
