Pashinyan Likely Never Had Any Connection to Military Affairs, Says Deputy Chair of State Duma Defense Committee

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, has commented on the 'unexploded' missiles from the Iskander tactical complex during the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh. Alexander Sherin, the Deputy Chair of the Defense Committee of the State Duma of Russia, expressed in an interview with Daily Storm that Pashinyan, by criticizing Russian weapons, wants to emphasize his innocence in relation to the conflict.

According to Sherin, the Armenian Prime Minister should publicly apologize. "Undoubtedly, Pashinyan must find those responsible for what happened. However, after such statements, it is worth immediately creating a bilateral commission, as Armenia is a member of the CSTO. In reality, this could seriously damage the reputation of our weapons and the entire country's reputation. There must be accountability for such words if they are not substantiated," Sherin said.

In the opinion of the Deputy Chair of the State Duma Defense Committee, it is necessary to first investigate: "Has Pashinyan even read the tactical and technical characteristics of the Iskander, and does he know what this missile is used for?"

"Honestly, I don’t quite understand what the complaint is about. Pashinyan probably has never had any connection to military affairs," noted the parliamentarian.

"We must take his words seriously. If a person is saying such things, then there should be an investigation. Let him confirm it with any facts," added Sherin.

"How is it possible to calculate that 10 Iskanders were received, and only one exploded? And where have the other nine fallen and not exploded? I think Pashinyan should publicly apologize. But he has already stated this to the whole world. Pashinyan's statement shows how deeply he is immersed in military affairs,” the deputy concluded.
