More than 20 Billion Drams of Damage to the State: The 'Mice' Who Plundered the Budget Remain Unpunished

The newspaper "Haykakan Jamanak" reports: "The year 2020 has proven to be unfavorable not only for economic indicators but also for the law enforcement system. The Prosecutor General's Office has summarized the statistics of economic crimes that occurred last year. According to official sources, the number of such crimes has decreased.

Specifically, 844 criminal cases were initiated regarding crimes targeting economic activities, which is about a 10% decline compared to 2019 (931 cases). In 2020, 1,045 criminal cases of this nature were under investigation, which is a decrease of 155 compared to 2019. The report indicates that the damage caused to the state from these cases amounted to over 20 billion drams, of which approximately 2.5 billion drams have been recovered, along with property and financial restrictions placed on the accused amounting to 13.5 billion drams.

The mice who plundered the budget remain, it can be said, unpunished." For more details, see today's issue of the newspaper.
