Larsi is Closed to All Types of Vehicles Due to Snowfall
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed roadways in the territory of Armenia. The Berd-Jambarak highway is closed, as well as the roads from the 'Amberd' high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to the Amberd Fortress and to the K'ari Lake.
The Vardenyats Pass is passable for trucks with trailers if using snow chains. The Luso-Gyugh-Saralanj road in Aragatsotn Province is difficult to traverse.
There is black ice in some areas on the Vanadzor-Dilijan, Artik-Alagyaz roads in Aragatsotn Province, and routes in Syunik Province. Snow is falling in Tavush Province, and in the cities of Tashir and Alaverdi in Lori Province.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
According to information received from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed to all types of vehicles due to snow accumulation, with approximately 550 trucks stranded on the Russian side.
