Criminal Proceedings Against 'Thief in Law' 'Zapi' Halted, He is Now Free
The criminal proceedings against Andranik Sogoyan, known by the nickname 'Zapi', who is considered a criminal authority, have been halted by the court's decision. This information was confirmed to NEWS.am by his lawyer, Arthur Pivazyan.
According to the lawyer, the proceedings were terminated due to the absence of criminal composition and lack of sufficient evidence. Pivazyan stated that the case has been formally concluded and closed.
He also revealed that Andranik Sogoyan is now free. When asked if there were any witnesses in this case, the lawyer said that there were many witnesses, but none recognized Andranik Sogoyan.
Arthur Pivazyan further mentioned that a request had been submitted to the court to extend Andranik Sogoyan's detention, but the court had rejected it.
It is notable that Andranik Sogoyan was accused under Article 223.2, Part 2, Clause 5 of the RA Criminal Code (Creating or heading a group with a criminal subculture by an individual holding a high status in the criminal hierarchy).
