Human Rights Defender Records Exceptional Support by Armenian Military Doctors for Prisoners of War
Military doctors have shown special treatment and compassion towards soldiers and civilians returning to Armenia from Azerbaijani captivity. This was documented during hospital visits by the Human Rights Defender and his representatives, according to the office of the Human Rights Defender.
Continuous monitoring by the staff of the Human Rights Defender on these matters indicates that military doctors within the Ministry of Defense system remain committed to their humanitarian mission. This is evidenced not only by the Defender's studies but also by citizens who describe the work of our doctors as heroic in their appeals.
During combat operations, in many cases, they were the last to leave the areas where heavy fighting occurred, providing assistance or rescuing others. The Defender has registered examples of exceptional support for prisoners of war.
The high professionalism, selflessness, and dedicated care of doctors day and night deserve the highest recognition from each of us. Their mission is humanitarian and does not recognize nationality.
Of course, there are also various issues within the field of military medicine that require consistent concrete steps for resolution. The Human Rights Defender is willing and always supports the resolution of these issues within his jurisdiction, leading to the development of the respective system and contributing to the overall protection of human rights.
