Do Not Try to Shift Your Indeterminate Demands onto the Parliamentary Opposition. Marukyan to Extra-Parliamentary Forces

Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the "Bright Armenia" faction in the National Assembly of Armenia, has responded to allegations directed at the parliamentary opposition regarding the failure to hold early elections.

"When Nikol Pashinyan proposed to political forces to discuss the issue of early elections and meet on that agenda, the extra-parliamentary players in Armenia's opposition unequivocally declared that early elections organized by Nikol Pashinyan and his agenda are unacceptable. There were even insulting statements made by political forces, scholars, experts, and media representatives directed at any forces that might agree to discuss that agenda with the Prime Minister," Marukyan noted.

The leaders of the two parliamentary opposition factions met with Pashinyan in the National Assembly and informed him that the opposition's demand was not for the organization of early elections, but for the Prime Minister's resignation.

On February 7, "My Step" announced that the issue of early elections would be moved to discussions in June. Following this announcement, various experts, political analysts, and political forces started blaming the parliamentary opposition for supposedly keeping the parliament intact and preventing its dissolution in order to proceed to early elections.

Now, what I want to say is: Dear political forces, experts, and political analysts, finally orient yourselves about what you want: early elections, resignation, or resignation followed by early elections? First decide what you want, then when you formulate your demands, we will talk again, and please do not try to shift your indeterminate demands onto the parliamentary opposition's pocket. At this moment, the parliament is the only legitimate body, the parliamentary opposition is even more legitimate, and any campaign against the parliamentary opposition is fundamentally doomed to failure," Marukyan wrote on his Facebook page.
