American-made Boeing 737 Registered in Armenia Found in Iran, International Expert Says
“Under yet to be clarified circumstances, an American-made Boeing 737 registered in Armenia has appeared in Iran,” wrote international expert Suren Sargsyan.
It is noted that the aircraft was transferred or sold to Iran under unknown circumstances, raising questions about how aviation authorities allowed this, especially considering the international sanctions against Iran.
“The aircraft was supposed to land in Armenia a few days ago, but it was diverted to Tehran. Just to remind, any company (or state) that transfers or sells products to Iran that are prohibited under U.S. law may face American sanctions. In this mixed situation, this is the last thing we needed,” Sargsyan wrote.
