Robbery Case Uncovered at Souvenir and Jewelry Store
The Investigative Committee of Armenia's Syunik Region has disclosed several details regarding the armed robbery incident that occurred at a souvenir and jewelry store in Sisian.
On February 17, 2021, around 12:55 PM, an individual, intent on stealing someone else's property, entered a souvenir and gold jewelry store located on G. Nzhdeh Street in the Sisian community. Using a knife as a weapon, he threatened the life of the saleswoman and forcibly stole a significant amount of gold jewelry from the store before fleeing the scene.
A criminal case was initiated by the Sisian investigative department of the Syunik regional investigative administration under Article 175 (robbery) of the Criminal Code of Armenia, specifically under paragraph 3 and 4 of the second part.
As a result of immediate investigative actions and operational intelligence measures, the identity of the alleged perpetrator has been established. The suspect, born in 1987 and a resident of the Sisian community, has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and provided self-incriminating testimony, revealing several circumstances of the incident, including the location where the stolen items were hidden. The stolen gold jewelry has been discovered and seized.
A recognition procedure was conducted during which the victim, an employee of the store, identified the alleged perpetrator. A blood sample was taken from the suspect, and forensic medical, genetic biology, and trace evidence examinations have been appointed. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, with necessary investigative and procedural actions undertaken to ensure a comprehensive, objective, and complete examination of all circumstances surrounding the case.
