VIDEO: The Erbil Airport in Iraq has been shelled
One person has died, and six others have been injured following a rocket attack in Erbil, Iraq. This was reported by Izvestia, referencing the official representative of Operation Inherent Resolve, Wayne Marotto.
According to him, a civilian employee was killed, five others were affected, and one U.S. service member was also injured. Earlier, media outlets reported that 2-3 civilians were affected by the attack.
On the evening of February 15, it became known that the international airport in Erbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, had been subjected to shelling. Journalists reported that five rockets struck the vicinity of the airport, two of which were located in close proximity to a U.S. military base, while another fell in a residential area near the Chinese embassy.
According to Al Sumaria TV, the target of the attack was the U.S. military base.
