Ten Participants Hospitalized After Birthday Party in Vanadzor
The National Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported today that Vanadzor residents have been hospitalized at the Vanadzor Infectious Diseases Hospital with a preliminary diagnosis of intestinal infection. An epidemiological investigation revealed that 14 individuals attended a birthday party on February 13, during which they consumed homemade cream pastries and a dish made with cooked chicken.
As of February 15 at 8:30 PM, 10 participants from the party have been hospitalized, presenting symptoms of general weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever rising to 38 degrees Celsius. Among the hospitalized, 5 are under the age of 18, and 5 are over 18. The condition of the patients has been assessed as moderate. Other participants from the event do not report any complaints.
Information regarding the incident has been submitted to the Northern Territorial Center of the Health and Labor Inspection and the Lori Regional Center of the Food Safety Inspection. Investigations are ongoing.
