Snowstorm Leaves Over 3 Million People Without Power in the U.S.

A snowstorm that has struck 25 states in the southern and midwestern U.S. has left over 3 million residents without electricity. This information has been reported by the National Weather Service.

Among those affected, more than 2.8 million live in Texas, where the natural disaster damaged power lines. Approximately 300,000 residents in Oregon are also without power. Additionally, tens of thousands of residents in Mississippi, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Arkansas are facing electricity outages.

In the southern states, uninsulated water pipes are bursting due to the freezing temperatures. Weather forecasts indicate that temperatures may drop further in the coming days.

On the evening of February 14, U.S. President Joe Biden declared a federal state of emergency throughout Texas at the request of Governor Greg Abbott.
