Court Session on Kocharyan and Others' Case Held Behind Closed Doors; Khachaturov Faces Health Issues
Today at the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, another session is taking place regarding the criminal case against the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, and others. The session is presided over by Judge Anna Danibekyan. Kocharyan is present at the hearing.
At the start of the session, a defense attorney for the defendant, former Chief of the General Staff Yuri Khachaturov, Mihran Poghosyan, announced that he would like to discuss a motion related to Khachaturov’s health condition behind closed doors. However, the attorney did not elaborate on the specifics of the matter. It is noteworthy that Khachaturov himself is not present at the session.
As there were no objections, the court proceeded to a closed-door session. It is worth mentioning that at the previous court session, Danibekyan had rejected the motion to cancel the pre-trial restrictive measure against Khachaturov.
The case involves second President Robert Kocharyan, former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan, former Deputy Prime Minister Armen Gevorgyan, and Yuri Khachaturov. They are accused of attempting to overthrow the constitutional order.
