Collision Involving Nissan and Infiniti in Yerevan Results in Driver's Death
A tragic and major car accident occurred today, February 15, in Yerevan. Around 22:50, a collision took place on Isaacian Avenue involving a Nissan Tiida with license plate 36 ML 430 and an Infiniti with license plate 70 VO 008.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamsyan, as a result of the accident, one person was extracted from the Infiniti by the firefighters and rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and later, emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and transported the injured individual to Astghik Medical Center.
While the Yerevan Traffic Police’s investigation division, led by department head Khachik Samvelyan and senior investigator Grigor Kirakosyan, was attempting to conduct an examination at the site, a call was received at the operational management center of the Yerevan Traffic Police from Astghik Medical Center indicating that the injured individual had passed away while being transported to the hospital.
The driver of the Nissan Tiida, 23-year-old Ararat Arakelyan, underwent a sobriety test at the scene and was found to be sober. Traffic police determined that the deceased was identified as 26-year-old Ruben Karapetyan, a resident of Yerevan.
