We Compromise Armenia's Security by Undermining Syunik's Safety: Tigran Abrahamyan

There is a profound lack of understanding that by ensuring the safety of Syunik, we are safeguarding the security of all of Armenia. Conversely, by putting Syunik's safety in doubt, we make Armenia vulnerable. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, head of the 'Henaket' analytical center and former security advisor to the President of Artsakh, on his Facebook page.

He specifically noted: "Throughout these 30 years, we have failed to convince each other that the soldier stationed at the border of Artsakh is securing the safety of Armenia. At first glance, it seems that this is a clear approach for any conscious individual. This is not merely a problem of relations between Artsakh and Armenia; the same applies to our current situation with Syunik. There is a profound lack of awareness that by ensuring the safety of Syunik, we are also ensuring the security of all of Armenia. Conversely, by placing Syunik's safety in doubt, we render Armenia vulnerable. If we do not engrave these and a few other simple truths into our consciousness, we will have no chance of living in this region."
