Statement of November 9 contains no provisions for the creation of a corridor, says MFA spokesperson
The 9th point of the November 9, 2020 statement by the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan contains no provisions for the creation of any corridor. Any road or communication route passing through Armenian territory is and will be exclusively under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of Armenia.
This was stated by Anna Naghdalyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, in response to a question from the Armenpress news agency.
- Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that there is a specific provision for the creation of a Nakhchivan corridor in the joint statement signed on November 10. How do you comment on this?
- The 9th point of the Tripartite Statement of November 9 speaks about the "unblocking of all economic and transport communications in the region," and with this approach, Armenia advocates for establishing stability in the region and prospects for cooperation. The aforementioned point does not contain any provisions for the creation of a corridor. Any road or communication route passing through Armenian territory is and will be exclusively under the sovereignty and jurisdiction of Armenia.
