17-Year-Old Driver in Opel Rolls Over Several Times, Ends Up in Field: 1 Dead, 2 Injured
On February 14, a tragic car accident occurred in the Armavir region. Around 22:00, 17-year-old Davit Matheosov, a resident of Norapat village, lost control of the Opel Astra he was driving at the entrance of Lukashin village under yet unknown circumstances. The vehicle veered off the road, crashed into a concrete barrier of a bridge, rolled over several times, and finally ended up in a field.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, driver D. Matheosov and his passengers—17-year-olds Aram Petrosyan and Kamsar Harutunyan, also residents of Norapat village—sustained bodily injuries and were taken to the Armavir Medical Center.
It is noted that today, February 15, at approximately 00:20, the Armavir Medical Center notified the Armavir police department that one of the injured, K. Harutunyan, had died after failing to regain consciousness.
As reported by G. Shamshyan, following the incident, an investigation was launched by investigator G. Hovhannisyan, and a criminal case was initiated under Article 242, Part 2 of the RA Criminal Code. The case has been transferred to the Armavir regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
