Video: Man Detained by Police Committed 5 Pickpocketing Cases in a Few Days

On February 10, thanks to the professional skills of the officers from the 6th division of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Yerevan Police, five cases of pickpocketing were solved.

According to the Police of the Republic of Armenia, the first incident was registered at the Nor Nork police station on February 4. A woman reported that on February 2, her wallet, which contained cash and an ID card, was stolen from her bag while on a minibus.

The other four incidents occurred in the Arabkir administrative district between February 5 and 10. On February 5, two cases of pickpocketing were documented at the Arabkir police station. Around 3:30 PM, the operational management center reported that a girl had noticed her mobile phone being stolen from her bag on Komitas Avenue. Later, around 5 PM, another passenger had her wallet stolen from her bag on the bus of route 47.

On February 6, the Arabkir police received a report that two days prior, a girl had her mobile phone stolen from her pocket while on minibus number 256.

The fifth case of pickpocketing occurred on February 10, when a man had his cigarettes and mobile phone stolen from his pocket on the minibus of route 47.

The officers from the Nor Nork and Arabkir police divisions conducted searches to uncover the thefts. They were joined by the officers of the pickpocketing combat division of the Yerevan Police's Criminal Investigation Department. Through persistent work, information was received that a 50-year-old resident of Vanadzor might have committed the thefts.

On the same day, he was detained at Kasyan Street by the Arabkir police and provided a confession. The stolen items from the latest crime have been recovered. Circumstances are being clarified, and materials are being prepared.
