I Am Astonished by the Cynicism of Nikol and His Supporters: Naira Zohrabyan

Nikol Pashinyan yesterday passed in parliament, in the first reading, his legislative initiative, which imposes fines of up to 5 million dram for insults directed at him, and up to 10 million dram for defamation. This was reported by Naira Zohrabyan, a member of the National Assembly from the ‘Prosperous Armenia’ faction, on her Facebook page, titling her post: “When Cynicism Knows No Bounds.”

She noted, “In other words, if someone dares to say that Pashinyan is a traitor for handing over Artsakh behind the back of the people, we should be prepared to pay 10 million dram because Nikol will find that whimpering judge who will consider the evident fact that Nikol handed over Artsakh as defamation. There is a line in Gori’s play ‘Forget Herostratus’ which states: ‘the human insolence is mightier than the gods.’”

I am astonished by the cynicism of Nikol and his supporters; I am astonished by their brazen insolence. Being this cynical and shameless suggests a serious psychological complex because a rational being, a homo sapiens, cannot be this boundlessly cynical. Why is this being done? The answer is straightforward: to ensure that only Nikol’s fake industry operates in the country, and for example, the female MP under Ararat Mirzoyan’s personal curation spews the most horrifying insults and repugnant lies against Nikol’s opponents, trying to subliminally alleviate her heavy complexes stemming from Turkey.

This project has been introduced for one reason: to permanently establish Nikol’s absolute power of fake profiles in Armenia and to force people to live within the virtual realm that Nikol has delineated. Therefore, I declare: I will continue to assert that anyone who handed over Artsakh to the Turks is a traitor, and you will not be able to silence us because your filth has made you the minority.

Indeed, aggressive, anti-aesthetic, unhygienic, ugly, vile; but a minority nonetheless. It is merely a matter of time before our country is cleansed of the corruption you have introduced. After which, there will only be one technical issue left: not to allow reckoning with you and your families, which, frankly, will be very difficult to restrain.

You must live; you must serve your punishment for life, and we will publicly display each of you as an exhibit for our children to see what a true Armenian should never be like.
