Citizens Deported from Russia Have Been Sleeping in Airports for 13 Days

Seven citizens who were deported from Russia on February 3 after traveling there on February 1, four of them have already been sleeping at "Zvartnots" Airport for 13 days. They spent three days at Russia's "Sheremetyevo" Airport before heading to "Zvartnots". They are sleeping on the airport benches and have taken out a loan to have enough money for food.

One of them, Egor, a resident of Ijevan, stated, "We have been sleeping and waking up at the airport for 13 days now. My wife has taken out a loan to give me money so we can eat here." According to them, hardly anyone has approached them during this time. They mentioned, "Only 'passport control' approached us, checked our passports, resolved our passport issues, and canceled the deportation," said Artush Ghukasyan, another resident of the same city. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding which 'passport control' had approached them or any specific information provided to them.

The citizens are now left with only the question of the airline. According to them, the airline that operated the flight, "Nordwind," is not planning to provide any compensation. In a conversation with the media, Satenik Hovhannisyan, the press spokesperson for "Zvartnots" Airport, indicated that they have tried to contact the airline but to no avail. "We also applied in writing, but we have not received a response yet," she said.
