14 Earthquakes Recorded in Armenia and Artsakh from February 4-10
From February 4 to February 10, 2021, the Seismic Protection Territorial Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported a total of 14 earthquakes of magnitude 2-3 and higher in the territories of Armenia and Artsakh. According to the ministry, on February 5:
In Armenia, 2 km northeast of Shorja village, a magnitude 6-7 earthquake was felt, with intensity of 5-6 in Gegharkunik Province, 4-5 in several settlements of Kotayk, Tavush, Lori, and Ararat Provinces, and 3-4 in Yerevan.
In Armenia, 4 km northeast of Shorja village, a magnitude 2-3 earthquake was recorded.
In Armenia, 4 km northeast of Shorja village, a magnitude 4 earthquake was also registered.
In Armenia, 2 km northeast of Shorja village, a magnitude 4-5 earthquake was felt.
In Armenia, 3 km southeast of Shorja village, a magnitude 2-3 earthquake occurred.

Outside the region, 9 earthquakes of magnitude 6.0 and above were recorded. On February 7, a magnitude 6.0 earthquake occurred 21 km west of Digos city in the Philippines. The same day, a 6.5 magnitude earthquake was registered 201 km north of Madang city in Papua New Guinea. On February 10, a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of New Caledonia in the South Pacific. There were 44 earthquakes of magnitude 5 and higher before and after, with 6 of them reaching magnitudes of 6.0, 6.2, 6.1, 6.1, 6.2, and 6.5.
