Internal War Against Armed Forces Has Long Been Underway: Tigran Abrahamyan
Recent discussions have centered around the fate, status, functions, and transformations of the Defense Army. Tigran Abrahamyan, the head of the 'Henaket' Analytical Center, wrote on his Facebook page:
'The fact that an internal war against the armed forces has long been underway should not raise doubts among anyone. I have also noticed a new dangerous trend: during the post-war period, there have been various publications in the media about the abuse of high-ranking officers. I assume that only incidents involving those in high command positions are being publicized; however, various psychological pressures and not only are being exerted on lower-ranking commanding personnel as well. It is not excluded that some officers did not adequately fulfill their duties during the wartime conditions, but such issues should be resolved legally rather than at a street level.
I find it unacceptable to distribute the entire responsibility for the unprofessional conduct of some officers to all. I am convinced that the number of commanders exhibiting behavior unworthy of military rank is small. Many officers and commanders have done their utmost, some even at the cost of their lives, and nothing can overshadow what they have done. The state and law enforcement agencies must work properly in this direction.
A military force cannot exist without its officers, neither in Artsakh nor in Armenia. Officers are the backbone of the armed forces. Those who do not meet the standards of this rank should be removed from the armed forces, and criminal cases should be initiated, if necessary, but do not harm the officer corps as a whole, do not trample on it, do not insult it. Understand that regardless of what army we create, those who are conscientious and committed to their country are the educated officers at its core.'
