Inflation Reaches Unprecedented Levels Over the Past Year: "Hraparak"
Inflation has reached unprecedented levels over the past year. In addition to essential goods, gasoline has also increased in price by exactly 100 drams over the past year. The latest price hike was recorded just two to three days ago, with the price of regular gasoline rising from 370 drams to 390 drams per liter, and premium gasoline from 390 drams to 410 drams. Moreover, there is a tendency for further increases. This occurs when the price of gasoline was only 270 drams a year ago. Gas prices have also increased, with a single refill costing around 500-600 drams more.
Economists explain this primarily by the rise in the dollar's value, a slight increase in global market prices, changes in excise rates, and the existence of monopolies and anti-competitive agreements in our market, which the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition should address.
