Aftershocks from the Recent Earthquake Have Ceased, Minister Says

During a Q&A session with the Government in the National Assembly, Minister of Emergency Situations Andranik Piloyan addressed the recent earthquake, assuring that there is no imminent danger.

"We experienced three such incidents, followed by another at the border of the Republic of Armenia, in Shorja. As of now, we can say that the aftershocks from the earthquake have ceased. According to our observations, there is no expected danger. Inter-agency commissions have worked regarding the collapses, along with representatives from our ministry and local self-government bodies. They will provide additional information on the expenses incurred by the affected population," said the minister.

Speaking about alerts, evacuations, and shelters, the minister stated, "The process had already begun during the wartime. It is no secret that we have serious issues regarding shelters. As a former military personnel, I have dealt with this issue before. I can assure you that addressing this issue has been set as a priority for the ministry, working in collaboration with local self-governing bodies to carry out this work." He affirmed that the ministry regularly conducts training exercises.
