After the War, the Hayastan Foundation Raised 27 Million Dollars from the Diaspora
After the Artsakh war, the Hayastan All-Armenian Foundation has received significant donations from the diaspora amounting to nearly 27 million dollars. Ashot Barseghyan, the head of marketing and public relations at the Hayastan Foundation, informed Armenpress about this.
«This amount was raised primarily from the Armenian communities in the USA, Canada, the Netherlands, Belgium, Argentina, and several other countries,» Barseghyan detailed.
Referring to the support programs provided to Artsakh by the All-Armenian Foundation in the post-war period, he noted that over 1000 damaged apartments and houses have been repaired, and works on installing windows and glass have been carried out.
«With the funds transferred to the government, financial assistance has been provided to tens of thousands of our compatriots in amounts of 300,000 and 68,000 + 15,000 drams. In addition, a massive amount of humanitarian aid has reached Artsakh, including powerful generators, vehicles, and various other forms of support,» Ashot Barseghyan stated.
Among the priorities of the programs implemented by the Hayastan All-Armenian Foundation are the rehabilitation treatment of wounded soldiers, solutions to housing issues for displaced persons, support for the healthcare system, providing temporary housing for those displaced, improving housing conditions, and organizing food for those in need.
«We support the rehabilitation center for defenders of the homeland and provide humanitarian aid to many medical institutions. We will present the entire process soon,» Barseghyan added.
Regarding the planned housing construction in Artsakh funded by the foundation, according to our interlocutor, these projects imply substantial amounts, and they are still in the discussion phase.
