Yerevan Municipality Plans Major Renovation of 12 Kindergartens, Construction of 3 More
During the first session of the 6th Yerevan City Council, the grant agreement for the "Yerevan Energy Efficiency" project, signed between the Yerevan Municipality and the European Investment Bank on June 8, 2018, was approved. The project specifies that a financial agreement was signed between the Yerevan Municipality and the European Investment Bank on December 1, 2017, with the approval of the aforementioned financial agreement by the City Council on December 26, 2017.
Given the necessity of implementing the "Yerevan Energy Efficiency" project, a grant agreement worth 5 million euros was signed between the Yerevan Municipality and the European Investment Bank on June 8, 2018. The total cost of the project is 15 million euros.
Deputy Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan stated that the project includes major renovations of kindergartens and seismic safety measures. He noted that approval from the Yerevan City Council is required to receive the grant.
“The project envisages the renovation of 12 existing kindergartens and the construction of 3 new ones. In 2020, capital renovations of 11 kindergartens were carried out with community funds. Nine of them have been put into operation, and the other two will be operational in the coming days,” Sargsyan concluded.
