Widespread Inflation in Armenia: Where Are the Government Representatives Who Should Be Held Accountable? – Enfiadjian
According to Vahe Enfiadjian, Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly and member of the Prosperous Armenia faction, widespread inflation has been recorded in Armenia based on data from the National Statistical Service. He stated, 'Vegetable oil prices have increased by 44.3%, sugar by 40.75%, eggs by 26.4%, dairy products by 7.7%, fruits on average by 12%, vegetables by 9.9%, bread by 7.9%, flour by 12.5%, beverages and tobacco by 6.8%, non-food items by 5.5%. Moreover, medicines have also gone up in price, and the transportation fares for several interregional routes have skyrocketed by 15-40%. Yet, there has been no change in quality despite the increase in ticket prices,' Enfiadjian announced today in the National Assembly.
He pointed out that the cause of all these failures lies in the irresponsible actions of the Armenian authorities. 'Where are the representatives of the government bodies who should answer for the current situation?' he asked, adding that these issues should lead to dismissals.
