What Will the New Bridge at the Sadakhlo-Bagratashen Border Checkpoint Look Like?
The final design of the new bridge to be built over the Debed River at the Sadakhlo-Bagratashen border checkpoint between Armenia and Georgia has been revealed. The Roads Department released a photo showcasing the project.
Two separate bridges will be constructed, positioned 1 meter apart in opposite directions. The total width of the two bridges will be 24.7 meters, with each measuring 11.85 meters wide. The bridge will feature approximately five spans of 32 meters each, along with access roads.
It will be equipped with external lighting and a drainage system. The existing bridge will undergo renovations to serve as an alternative route in case of congestion at the border checkpoint, ensuring smooth traffic flow.
The project for the construction of the new bridge is currently in the pre-construction phase. Construction is set to begin in the coming months.
