Russian Ambassador: Putin, Lavrov, and Shoigu Personally Addressing Armenian Prisoner Issues

Today, during a conversation with journalists, Sergey Kopirkin, the Russian Ambassador to Armenia, shared insights on discussions held with former Armenian leaders.

The ambassador noted that topics addressed included the efforts undertaken by Russia and the peacekeeping contingent, as well as the international humanitarian response center in Artsakh.

Kopirkin emphasized the importance of the close and allied relations between the two countries in all discussions. He stated that the issue of Armenian prisoners is one of the foremost challenges within the framework of the trilateral statement signed on November 9.

According to him, the matter of prisoners is being personally managed by Putin, Lavrov, and Shoigu. He remarked, “The resolution of this issue is not progressing as quickly as we would like, but believe me, everything possible is being done to resolve this problem, and it will be resolved.”
