Our Proposal to Hold Early Elections Did Not Receive Positive Feedback: Makunts

One of the primary mechanisms for shaping public demand is the presentation by political forces. Since both the parliamentary opposition and part of the extra-parliamentary opposition have not formed that demand, it means there is no demand for early elections. This was stated today, February 8, during a briefing with journalists at the National Assembly by Lilit Makunts, the leader of the "My Step" faction, addressing the absence of public demand for early elections.

Makunts noted that the demand for a change of government from the opposition can only be realized through elections, and that was the reason behind the proposal to hold early elections. "If the opposition changes its mind and decides to address the issue of early elections, we are ready to discuss it again. For now, we will continue our work on implementing the roadmap and will revisit the issue of early elections upon summarization,” emphasized the leader of the "My Step" faction, adding that all grievances regarding the lack of elections should be directed at the opposition.
