Karapet Ghukasian is Not Karo Ghukasian: Confusion Arises in Military Records
Participant of the recent Artsakh war, Karo Ghukasian, today reported that his military record indicates he took part in combat operations until October 20, while he insists he was at the front until the last day of the war.
He specifically wrote: “Indeed, I participated in the war from September 29, 2020, to October 20, 2020 (in reality, I participated until the end on November 10, 2020, and returned home on November 19). It turns out I was a driver and a radio operator during the war, but in fact, I was an artilleryman in the 3rd battery of the 1st division of Martakert. No, this is truly the lowest form of deceit by the Martakert military unit. I kindly ask you to correct this; otherwise, I will be forced to take legal action. It is unacceptable to treat someone who stayed on the battlefield until the very end this way, while the command staff did not even leave the bunker. I don’t even have a driver’s license and know nothing about being a radio operator. Best regards, Karo Ghukasian,” he wrote.
However, shortly after, the Facebook post that outlined the aforementioned issue was deleted and a new publication was presented:
“I spoke with the command staff of Martakert. There were two people: Karo Ghukasian - artilleryman, Karapet Ghukasian - driver. I was written based on the information of Karapet Ghukasian, who participated on October 20, 2020. In short, the issue has been resolved. I kindly ask the media not to write embellished things—thank you,” he wrote.
