Defense Minister Meets with Relatives of Missing Soldiers
The Minister of Defense of Armenia, Vagharshak Harutyunyan, met on February 8 with the parents and relatives of soldiers who went missing during the war that broke out on September 27. This was reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defense.
Vagharshak Harutyunyan presented the progress of search operations being carried out in the areas of combat actions, stating that information on the results of these operations is regularly published, and the identification process continues.
The head of the defense department answered the questions of the meeting participants, responded to suggestions, and issued instructions to the head of the Military Police and the leaders of other responsible units.
The Minister of Defense informed that all necessary actions are being implemented in the defense system to collect, coordinate, and map information about possible locations of the missing, making the process more efficient.
In response to the questions raised, Vagharshak Harutyunyan also assured that an investigation is ongoing in several cases. The Minister emphasized that all those responsible will be punished within the framework of criminal cases opened for criminal actions or inaction. He stressed that the process is within the legal framework, and it is necessary to wait for the completion of the investigation.
