A Toddler Dies in Ararat Province; Signs of Bruising Found on the Body
The Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated a criminal case under Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Armenia (causing death by negligence) in the Masis investigative division of the Ararat regional investigative department, reports shamshyan.com.
The criminal case was opened following a notification received from the Masis Medical Center on February 7. The Masis police department was informed that a male toddler had been brought to the medical center in a deceased condition.
Police and investigators determined that the deceased was 2-year-old Styopa S., a resident of Ararat Province. According to the initial conclusion of the forensic expert, the information provided by the police and investigators of Ararat Province was confirmed, as signs of bruising were found on various parts of the child's body.
The mother of the child, 20-year-old Arusyak S., and the stepfather, 31-year-old Razmik Z., have been brought to the Masis police department. They stated that on February 6 around 8 PM, their child accidentally consumed two “Dimedrol” pills at home. It was only on February 7 around noon that they noticed the child was unresponsive and transported him to the Masis Medical Center.
