Avinyan Meets with Veolia's Director for Armenia to Discuss Water Pricing
On February 5, Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan met with Malika Genduri, the Deputy Executive Vice President for Central and Eastern Europe and Veolia's Director for Armenia.
During the meeting, Avinyan emphasized the importance of Veolia's operations in Armenia, highlighting the need for continuity and the Armenian government’s interest in attracting new investments. He noted that policies in the water sector would be effective only through close cooperation between the Armenian government and the company.
Moreover, Avinyan pointed out that several projects remained unfinished last year due to the coronavirus pandemic and the war, and that these must be continued to achieve specific results in the near future.
The Deputy Prime Minister particularly stressed the need for effective management in addressing the improvements needed in the water system.
Malika Genduri expressed her gratitude for the meeting, emphasizing that joint efforts with the government could address existing issues in the sector and stabilize the agreements made between the parties, implementing them fully.
The parties also discussed pricing issues as well as opportunities for enhancing the quality of services provided.
