Ararat Mirzoyan Meets with UN Representative

On February 4, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, met with Dmitry Mariyasin, the Permanent Representative of the UN Development Program in Armenia, who is concluding his mission in the country, as reported by the press service of the National Assembly.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Speaker expressed his gratitude to Mr. Mariyasin for the cooperation and for the joint programs implemented in various sectors. During the meeting, the cooperation between the Armenian Parliament and the UNDP was discussed, which is aimed at developing the institutional capacities of the National Assembly.

The Permanent Representative of UNDP in Armenia, D. Mariyasin, thanked for the effective cooperation with the National Assembly during his tenure. He also spoke about various programs implemented by UNDP in Armenia.

The Speaker of the National Assembly referred to the military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh last autumn and its severe consequences, prioritizing the prompt return of Armenian prisoners of war and captured individuals. The Speaker also emphasized the urgent need to address other humanitarian issues that have arisen as a result of the war and the active involvement of international partners in that process.

At the end of the meeting, Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan wished Dmitry Mariyasin further success in his future endeavors.
