Zelensky Imposes Sanctions on Opposition MP and Several TV Channels
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has imposed sanctions on several television channels, as well as on Taras Kozak, a member of the "Opposition Platform – For Life" faction in the Verkhovna Rada, according to a report by RIA Novosti.
The sanctions target the Ukrainian channels "112-TВ," "ARІADNA TV," "NOVIY FORMAT TV," "TV VIBIR," "TELE-RADIOCOMPANY '112-TV,'" "LIDER TV," "PARTNER TV" (all related to "112. Ukraine"), and "NOVYNY 24 GODYNY" (NewsOne), as well as "New Communications" (ZIK). Kozak previously stated that he is the owner of the aforementioned television channels.
Various Ukrainian media outlets have linked these television channels to Kozak's colleague, Viktor Medvedchuk, who is also a member of the same faction. The sanctions are set for a duration of five years. They will involve asset freezes, restrictions on financial transactions, and bans on capital withdrawal from Ukraine.
Additionally, the television channels will be prohibited from using Ukraine's radio frequency networks and conducting retransmissions.
