My Step Coalition Member Anush Beghoyan Refers to Shushi as Shusha

During an online conference of the project "Пограничная ZONA," Anush Beghoyan, a member of the My Step coalition, asserted that her statements had been distorted. When journalists played an English recording of Beghoyan's voice, asking her to translate her remarks, she requested the translation published by a media outlet. However, the journalists insisted that she translate her own words.

Beghoyan translated her statement as follows: "Your conversations about whose land it was and who was the first in that land are not significant in the context that no one can substantiate it better than Armenians." A representative from the media, however, pointed out that this could be interpreted differently: "You are literally saying that we must look forward and not return to the old conversation about whose lands those are and who started the war."

While responding to other questions, she also made a statement, saying, "At this moment, 7 regions and more have been handed over to Azerbaijan." After a journalist remarked, "I knew it was by war..." she added the term "war" to her original statement.

When discussing Shushi, the lawmaker initially referred to the city as Shusha and only later corrected herself to Shushi.
