Is Nikol Bringing In Inexperienced Judges Who Will Lose Their Certificates and Forget Their Roles? - Gevorg Petrosyan
Nikol Pashinyan is looking to make changes in the circle that does not provide him with satisfaction. He has realized that there are judges who are not compliant and seeks to replace these non-compliant judges with compliant ones. This was stated today, February 3rd, by Gevorg Petrosyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party, during a protest in front of the National Assembly.
“Cases are going to be considered under the same Criminal Code, with the same articles. So what's the difference who the judge is? Is that judge going to create a new Criminal Code? No. This indicates a single desire, which is to replace non-compliant judges with compliant ones. That is the whole truth. I have a question: who are these more professional people who should show a specialized approach? They are like their inexperienced counterparts, who will lose their certificate and forget what their work is; in the same way, they will bring in inexperienced judges who will be lost and will say, ‘Hey guys, this is how it is.’ Nikol Pashinyan promised on the very first day when he said, ‘Is that judge capable of not following my orders?’
It is suggested that there should be a court that decides on preventative measures, and I could just as well suggest a court that decides on searches, a court that decides on seizures. For every investigative action, a new court should not be created,” stated Gevorg Petrosyan.
It is reported that the government has presented a draft law to the National Assembly, according to which cases for choosing precautionary measures should be examined by specialized judges dedicated to these issues.
