Citizens Voluntarily Surrender AK-47 Rifles and Other Firearms to Police Stations
As a result of the explanatory work carried out by the officers of the Ashtarak police station, a report was received at the station regarding a citizen who left an AK-47 rifle, grenades, grenade fuses, and ammunition near the memorial complex called "Eagle Wings." The Ashtarak police discovered the aforementioned weapons and ammunition at the location specified by the citizen.
Police responding to a call near the "Renaissance" memorial complex in the town of Aparan found a factory-numbered pistol and various calibers of ammunition left by a citizen.
Additionally, as a result of the explanatory work by the Sevan police and the road police serving the Gegharkunik region, a man residing in Sevan voluntarily surrendered a factory-numbered AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and ammunition.
Instances of voluntary surrender of unlawfully held weapons and ammunition were also recorded in the Gavar and Vardenis police divisions of the Gegharkunik regional police department. Residents of the region surrendered various types of pistols, F-1 type grenades with fuses, rifles, and various calibers of ammunition at the Gavar police station. A factory-numbered TOZ model smoothbore rifle was also brought to the Vardenis division by a 30-year-old man living in the village of Mets Masrik.
The explanatory work by the Vayots Dzor regional police department and the Jermuk division was also effective. A man living in Jermuk voluntarily surrendered a factory-numbered AK-47 rifle that contained 30 pieces of 7.62 mm caliber ammunition.
As a result of the explanatory work by the criminal investigation officers and community police of the Kotayk division, two men residing in the city of Abovyan voluntarily surrendered factory-numbered pistols, rifles, a grenade, and ammunition.
Due to the explanatory work by the Armavir division officers, a woman living in Armavir voluntarily surrendered a "Carabine" firearm belonging to a deceased relative, along with a grenades with fuses and various calibers of ammunition.
Furthermore, due to the explanatory work by the Ararat division and department officers, two residents from the region voluntarily surrendered weapons as well.
