Why Have Azerbaijani Soldiers Been Returned So Quickly While the Process for Our Prisoners’ Return is Slow? – Tigran Abrahamyan
Head of the Analytical Center 'Henakhet', former advisor on security issues to the President of Artsakh, Tigran Abrahamyan, wrote on his Facebook page:
“According to the official website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, on January 30, two Azerbaijani servicemen who were arrested by the Armenian National Security Service in the area of Tegh village in Syunik province were transferred to Azerbaijan today through mediation by the Russian side. The Russian Ministry of Defense also reports that 16 patients (Azerbaijanis) were transported from the village of Vank and handed over to the Azerbaijani side.
A clear question arises: why are we learning about this from the official Ministry of Defense website? Secondly, under what circumstances did the two Azerbaijani soldiers find themselves in the Tegh area and then get arrested?
Third, why have Azerbaijani servicemen been returned to Azerbaijan so quickly while the process of repatriating our prisoners and servicemen has been rather slow? Fourth, who are the 16 Azerbaijani patients being referred to, and since when and under what circumstances have they been located in the village of Vank before being handed over to Azerbaijan?
Fifth, why haven’t the relevant Armenian authorities provided this necessary information? Can we assume that the government has reasons for concealing and hiding information from the public? Undoubtedly.”
